The Dove Valley Working Gundog Club is dedicated to the correct training and use of Retrievers and Spaniels in the shooting field.                                                                                          (Please read our Constitution by following the link from Membership page)                                               Based around the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border area, we support a large local membership as well as attracting members from all corners of the UK.

We hold regular training classes from April to September  and Working Tests throughout the Summer, designed to simulate the conditions found on a shooting day. Affiliated to the Kennel Club of Great Britain, all events are run to Kennel Club rules.

We were granted Field Trial Status by the Kennel Club and ran our first Novice Field Trials for Spaniels and Retrievers during 1999. These proved a great success and in 2005 we were awarded Open stake status.   We promote the training & handling of gundogs by younger members as much as possible as they are the future for our sport.
