by kind permission of Mr and Mrs G Astley
Judges: John Mee, Sally Morewood and Gill Awty.

“After what I’m sure everyone can only agree has been a very peculiar year, yesterday marked the 1st Dove Valley test of the year and I’m sure everyone will agree it is great to be back. This included both the Retriever Novice test which was run alongside the Retriever Puppy test
By the kind permission of Mr and Mrs George Astley, Blythe House Farm was the venue for both tests. The weather was cloudy with light showers in the morning which luckily held off for the remainder of the morning. After a brief introduction by test secretary Sean Farrell the tests were underway The ground was long, very wet grass up to waist high in areas which caused its own challenges for several handlers. The varied tests included, marks to shot, blinds, distractions in water, marks across water and 2 dog walked up scenarios. Puppy tests included marks, marks over water, water retrieves, heel work, and memory retrieves. Upon completion, Sean gathered all attendees together to thank them with all concerned, expressing particular thanks to the land owner along with all of the judges. Sally Morewood, Gill Awty and John Mee

On behalf of the club, we would like to thank all handlers who attended the test and congratulate the numerous 1st time runners which is a very nerve wrecking thing to do. In addition we would like to thank all the judges, dummy throwers and volunteers who make these days possible
We are already looking forward to hosting our next test and hope to see you there ☺️🐶”
