Cubley Estate Novice Cocker Field Trial 2026

 

thank you to the judges for your time and expertise today.

Many thanks to the team of guns who always generously support our Trials, Paul Woodcock, Julia Bott, Jon Fern and Philip Walton.  Helpers, in abundance as Dove Valley supporters are the most generous of their time, Jane Burton, Haley Clarkson, Heather Clarke, Helen Fern, Natalie Fowler, Cherryl Jones and Bridget Noakes. Also thanks to Nigel Matthewman for Picking Up.

A first Trial for the new Keeper at Cubley, Steve, a superb steady show of birds were delivered, giving dogs and handlers plenty of time to show their skill.  All in all a clockwork day, albeit short, with Trial Over at 11.30am.

Awarded The Bedford Cup, Novice Cocker Runner Up Trophy donated by Elizabeth Bedford

Andrew Fletcher with Marshkeepers Bushmaster (dog owned and bred by Andrew).

 

Keepers Choice, a beautiful glass tankard generously given by the Cubley Estate was awarded to Matt Farish.

 

One Trial left for Dove Valley this season, next week’s Novice AV Spaniel, we look forward to seeing all competitors, helpers and judges at Bretby.
